I’m a tough cookie when it comes to hair products. I quiver at the thought of too many products in my tresses, as I hate that weighed-down feeling where I’m constantly having to backcomb just to counteract the ‘flatness’, for lack of a better word.
My hair is very dry, so the idea of an oil is very appealing. My favourite so far is the V05 Miracle Concentrate Elixir that everyone in the blogosphere raved and craved not so long ago. Recently, I have been testing out the Toni & Guy Curl Defining Oil*, which claims to combat frizz and define curl without weighing your hair down. As you can see from the picture, it’s a very lightweight oil, and you only need one pump to see the results.
I simply applied one pump of the oil to damp hair, and evened out with a wide-toothed comb. I then blowdried my hair, but the instructions note that you can also let your hair dry naturally. I didn’t see results instantaneously, but after a couple more applications, I noticed that my hair felt smoother, my infamous GHD waves were holding out for a lot longer and they looked much more defined. Though this oil doesn’t necessarily condition my hair, it’s a brilliant product for styling and achieving a much more defined style, and at a budget-friendly price too.
The RRP is £6.39 for 150ml and is available at Boots.
