The cold, dull weather means that winter isn’t my most favourite of seasons, but I think I’ve become pretty skilled at keeping my skin in balance whilst the wind and rain come and attack from all angles.
Now that the weeks of Christmas shopping have come to an end, it’s time to slough off the stress, pile on the moisture and amp up the glow ready for the New Years festivities. Here are my three glow-giving secret weapon products that I’ll be arming myself with over the next few days and for the rest of the winter season.
The cleanser. First things first, I’ll massage in the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing balm. A rich, spa-scented balm, this is so luxurious and wonderful to use in the winter. I’ll remove my makeup, then apply a tiny scoop of the balm to really let my skin get maximum benefits. I’ll wash it off with the Emma Hardie flannel - rough on one side, and smooth on the other side, using both products together gives the complexion a boost that you can really see and feel - so much so, that you won’t be able to stop stroking your chops.
The quick-fix mask. Want to take that delicious, dewy glow to the next level? It will only take a minute with REN’s Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial. Literally, one minute. After giving my skin a quick pat with a towel, I’ll squeeze a little bit of the mint-coloured paste onto my fingertips, then smooth all over my skin. I’ll then use a small splash of water to massage it in further before leaving it for one minute. Et voila, instant results. You just wait until you throw on your slap, too - things will feel a whole lot smoother, and it’s mostly thanks to this exfoliating, glow-boosting mask.
The toner. I’ve waxed lyrical about Liz Earle over the years, but it’s because I will go back to her skincare line whenever my skin is in an SOS sitch. Case in point:the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic. As far as toners go, I’m a little sceptical of how much they actually do, but whenever I use this I can feel the benefits not only on my skin but on my mood, too (exactly what I need when S.A.D. kicks in!). The fragrance is so uplifting, and it’s the perfect next step to a gorgeous, glowy complexion.
How do you like to perk up your skin in the winter?
